The new Central Energy Plant is a three-story rectangular building that serves the north portion of the Greehey Campus of UT Health San Antonio. This new CUP will support expansion including the current and future phase of the Multi-disciplinary and Research Hospital, the new Brain Health Building, Science 1 Building, Vivarium expansion at Barshop, and future growth for additional research buildings. The new Central Energy Plant is located in what was a parking lot at the corner Sid Katz Drive and James P Hollers Drive. This site accommodates the new building, and a clear area adjacent to the building to accommodate commercial sized delivery trucks, crane operation, and staff parking. The site also accommodates 1 generator and three future generators, 2 electrical transformers and two future transformers, and 1 electrical switch, and 1 future electrical switch.
